VISCC update @ 26/6/10

We have 9 'Cub Scouts' table pledged / sold so far.
We also have a sponsor of 3 bus transit from VI - Parkroyal Hotel.
The Committee will be meeting every Saturday, 8.30am at Bilik Gerakan (next to VI School Hall) up till the day of the dinner.

The number of tables is limited for the night and is grouped in 4 tiers :

'King Scout' Dinner Package : RM 10,000 per table
'Senior Scout' Dinner Package : RM 6,000 per table
'Boy Scout' Dinner Package : RM 3,000 per table
'Cub Scout' Dinner Package : RM 1,500 per table

Note : Each table sits 10 pax

It is estimated that we have about 40 tables for the night. We will update on the status of table soon.

Cheque contributions

For purposes of control and funds monitoring by the Commitee, please submit cheque with the attached contribution forms

Funds will be kept under the school's co-curriculum account and the fund balance will be monitored by the Committee by way of maintaining separate records and audit checks.

To ease the monitoring of funds going into the co-curriculum account, please perform the following:

Contributor to complete donation form stating cheque no., date, amount & bank & details of contributor : name, NRIC / Co. reg no., contact no.
Cheque to be crossed and issued in the name of "PENYELARAS KO KORIKULUM SMK VICTORIA".
Following details to be written at the back of the cheque : name of contributor, NRIC / Co. Reg no., amount, contact no., "VISCC".
Cheque and form can be given direct to school or committee members. (If given direct to school, kindly please send us a copy of the form and cheque for our reference and monitoring purposes.)
Please follow-up with your contact person to ensure you receive a temporary receipt and/or official receipt issued by the school (tax exemption).
We would also appreciate if you could notify us upon the clearing of the cheque from your account for us to initiate checking on the school's co-curriculum account.

Scout den

The scout den is budgeted to cost approximately RM 150,000, being semi-wooden and semi-concrete built.

Support and contribution in terms of facilitating the design, sourcing of materials / contractor, construction, interior design, etc are welcomed.

Victoria Institution Scout Centenary Committee

Background
The Victoria Institution Scout Centenary Committee (VISCC) was formed in early 2010 to coordinate and organise the VI Scouting movement centenary celebrations.

Currently the main activity in focus is the sponsorship drive and fundraising dinner on 31 July 2010 at Parkroyal Hotel.

VISCC comprises of current scouts, alumnis, parents & teacher advisors. Please refer to attached link for a list of the committee members.

VI Scouting history

Objective
1. To commemmorate the 100 Years of Scouting In VI (1910 - 2010);
2. To raise funds to purchase scouting equipments & to contribute towards scout den building fund.

In 2007, a fire incident has taken place at the Scouts' scout den and as a result the Scouts has lost the den along with some items kept in the den. This Committee intends to raise funds to fund the scout den building fund as well as to purchase scouting equipment for the scouts.

- contributors in terms of personal time or services for coordination of fundraising drive, dinner secretariat, dinner performances, scouting memorabilia exhibitors, event photographer, event videographer, Master of Ceremony

Sponsorship & contributions
The Committee is looking for sponsors, contributors and advertisers.
Individuals or Corporates can sponsor dinner tables, contribute cash donations or items for lucky draw or fundraising auction, or support by purchasing advertisement slots in the Dinner's programme book.

All cash contributions would be tax deductible. Please submit remittance details with the sponsorship letter attached to Victoria Institution with a copy to Ms Shanti, teacher advisor from VI for the Committee's record purposes.
